Our featured pets for this week are Paulie and Jamie. Paulie is a darling, 10-week-old orange tabby. He’s a sweet little fellow and enjoys being held and cuddled. Paulie needs a forever home where he will be loved and appreciated for his charming and playful personality.
Jamie is a handsome, 3½-month-old shepherd mix puppy. He has an intelligent eye and is just the right age to start his obedience training. Jamie will make a great family pet and will bring lots of love and enjoyment with him to his new home. If you are considering adding a pet to your family, please come to our adoption center on the Danville bypass next to the fairgrounds and visit the beautiful animals waiting for new homes. You also may preview many of our available pets at our website www.homes4pets.org.
Aug. 18-25 is Take Your Cat To The Vet Week. Preventative care is just as important for cats as it is for dogs. Keeping your cat up to date on his vaccinations is important, and regular checkups can help catch health issues before they become major illnesses that are more painful for your cat and more difficult and expensive to treat. So, if you’re a kitty parent, make an appointment for your cat’s wellness exam and keep him healthy and happy.
The humane society currently is caring for many kittens and puppies. Donations of Purina kitten chow and Purina puppy chow are needed along with cat litter and cleaning supplies, including bleach, paper towels, laundry detergent, dish detergent and hand soap. We always need used towels and blankets. Your gifts to the animals are greatly appreciated.
Low-cost, high-quality spay or neuter surgery is available for pet owners with low and fixed incomes. Call our Happy Paws Clinic at (859) 691-1137 for an appointment. Please help control pet over-population by having your pet spayed or neutered.
