From the Farm: Farmers Market opening was terrific
Opening Day at the Fairgrounds was great! We had a few sprinkles of rain but otherwise, the weather remained mild. Lots of vendors, with plenty of fresh Spring goodies available, lined the market on Saturday. Many of us sold out early.
We enjoyed seeing everyone again. Many of you stopped by our booth and introduced yourselves to our dog, Sheba. It was her first trip to the market. She is very calm and laid back at home but we weren’t sure how she would react to all of the activity and people. She did extremely well so we will be bringing her with us from time to time.
The first fresh strawberries of the season went quickly. They are beginning to come in now so there should be more available this week.  See below for a delicious variation of strawberry shortcake recipe. This one is easy but takes a little longer to make than regular shortcake. It is worth the time and effort and serves up to 16!
Visit us this week and check out some of these market offerings. Come early so you won’t miss out!!
