Communicating and Relating to Persons with Dementia —10-11:30 a.m. June 4 at the Scott County Public Library, 104 S. Bradford Lane, Georgetown. The program will help family members make sense of these changes and become more equipped to relate to their loved one.
Memory Café — 3-5 p.m. June 11 at Common Grounds, 343 E. High Street, Lexington. The Memory Café is free. Provides an informal setting for caregivers and their loved ones with memory problems to socialize and interact with other families and professionals, while sharing and creating old and new experiences. Educational materials and expertise are provided through an informational table and staff from the Center on Aging and Alzheimer’s Disease Center. Hosted by the Sanders-Brown Center on Aging and the Living Arts and Science Center, the event also receives support from the Alzheimer's Association, the Bluegrass Area Agency on Aging and various UK departments. Danville-Boyle County Adult Education Learning Center — Open 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Monday through Thursday at 1714 Perryville Road, Danville Square Suites, 112 (next to Big Lots).
