James T. Denton, son of Junie R. and Charlie B. Denton of Lancaster, and fellow Marines assigned to Headquarters and Service Battalion, 4th Marine Logistics, Military Police Company Alpha of Lexington, recently completed pre-deployment training at Camp Lejeune, N.C.
His unit is schedule to deploy in early August to various locations in Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.
Headquarters and Service Battalion provide combat logistics support in the areas of administration, automated data processing, communications, food service, personnel retrieval and processing, military police, and CBRN, to 4th Marine Logistics Group and Combat Logistics Elements in support of Marine Air Ground Task Forces and other missions as directed.
Denton is a 2006 graduate of Garrard County High School and joined the Marine Corps in October 2006.
