Prayer retreat

Christ the Head Missionary Church — 8:45 a.m. Saturday, the Women’s Fellowship Ministry will sponsor its fourth annual prayer retreat. Registration begins at 8:45 a.m. Guest speaker will be Gwendolyn J. Griskell of First Baptist Church, Georgetown. The first five people to register will receive a free gift. A continental breakfast and lunch will be served. The church is at 845 E. Main St. in Danville.

Music

Grace Fellowship Church, Stanford — 6 p.m. Sunday. Worship leader Jason Coulter will lead the event, which will include a variety of musical styles and singers. The church is on U.S. 27, a mile south of Lincoln County High School.

Harris Creek Baptist Church — 6 p.m. Sunday, Destiny of Indiana will sing.

Benefit concert

First Baptist Church, Danville bypass — 7:30-9 p.m. today for a concert to benefit the church mission teams and community recreation area construction project. Performers include Potter’s Clay, Stephen King and The Massey Sisters.

Community prayer

Kingdom First Prayer Fellowship — 7 p.m. Tuesday, invitation to pray for the conditions of today’s world at Hebrew Roots Bible Study, across the road from Durham’s Gift and Garden Shop. For more information, call (606) 669-1712.

St. Peter AME¿Church — 3 p.m. Sunday, the church will celebrate Fellowship Day. The guests will be the Rev. Virgil Hill and the congregation of First Baptist Church, Harrodsburg.

Good things to eat

Paint Lick Fairview Christian Church — 5-7 p.m. Saturday, the church will have a soup and sandwich supper. The menu includes a variety of soups and sandwiches with desserts and a drink. Donations are welcome.

Drama

Danville First Church of God  — 7 p.m. March 23 and 10:45 March 24, the Children’s Choir will present “His Fleece Was White as Snow!” Everyone is welcome. The church is at 3220 Harrodsburg Rd. For more information, call (859) 236-4700.
 
Danville First Church of God — 7 p.m. March 28, the church will present “Living Last Supper,” dramatic presentation of the Last Supper, on Maundy Thursday. Communion will be observed and following a brief break, a feet washing service will be performed. The church is at 3220 Harrodsburg Rd.

Paint Lick Community Arts Center — 3 p.m. and 5 p.m. March 24, Tim Pack, pastor of Wallaceton Baptist Church will portray, in costume, the Apostle Paul as he recites his letter to the Philippians. He will be accompanied by musician Mike Krajci. Because of limited seating, call the center to reserve a seat, (859) 925-2741. 

Discipleship conference planned

South District Baptist Association will have a “Making Disciples In Your Church” conference 7 p.m. Tuesday at Salt River Baptist Church.
The conference will be led by the association’s discipleship team leader, Rev. David Evans, and the director of missions, Rev. Jim Clontz. Clontz was the associate director and then director of discipleship for 19 years at the Kentucky Baptist Convention.
The conference will assist pastors and other church leadership develop a vision for following Christ’s command to make disciples by their becoming more like Him. The conference will be customized to the needs of conferees. South District Baptist Association is composed of churches in Boyle County as well as part of Garrard, Washington, Marion and Casey counties.
