Boston |
Our pets of the week are Boston and Tucker. Boston is a 1-year-old cat with unusual chocolate and white coloring. He is well-mannered and very calm. Boston is happy to share his temporary home with seven other cats in one of our “kitty condos.” He prefers the cat lifestyle of just sitting and looking handsome, along with welcoming any visitors who come in and pet him. Boston will make the perfect house companion.
Tucker is a darling 3 1⁄3-month-old mixed breed puppy. We think he may have some pit bull terrier and shepherd in his background. Tucker is a rich brindle color and has an alert but gentle demeanor. Tucker’s sweet disposition has made him a favorite at the humane society. Come and meet Tucker, and he may be your favorite, too.
Our next obedience class will be 12:30 p.m. Saturday at Stuart Powell Ford on the Danville bypass. The class, taught by dog trainer Cheri Carbone, is free to anyone who has adopted from a shelter or rescue. Others are welcome to join in for a small donation to the humane society.
The humane society is in need of used blankets that can be used as bedding for the puppies. Other items on the shelter “wish list” are Purina puppy chow and Purina cat food and kitten chow, bleach, paper towels, laundry detergent, dish detergent and hand soap. Donations to the shelter are greatly appreciated.
