STANFORD — “Plate Flower Yard Art” was on tap Tuesday at the First Southern Community Arts Center. The center was the site of the first in a series of Third Tuesday Art Shops.
Each participant came with plates, saucers and small bowls, some family pieces, and some Goodwill finds. With a little drilling, glue and a few glass blobs for bling. These were turned into colorful new treasures to adorn gardens or potted plants.
The Art Center plans to have a different Artshop at 6:30 p.m. each Third Tuesday of the month. The April 17 Artshop is a class for wannabe jewelers. Basic jewelry and wire skills will be taught. Besides the knowledge and skills learned in the class, participants will take away with them either a Mother’s Day bracelet or a book thong.
The May Artshop will be taught by colored pencil artist Pat Fretz of Danville.
