JUNCTION CITY — A Boyle County man was arrested on a wanton endangerment charge Wednesday after he allegedly fired a gunshot into a refrigerator.

Police responded to a domestic violence call about 10 a.m. Wednesday in Shelby Green subdivision.

A woman, whose name was not released, fled the residence and contacted police, stating that James Collins Sevier, 67, had fired one round into the refrigerator at the home before she left.

When officers arrived at the scene, Sevier already had left and returned to his home on Salt River, Police Chief Merl Baldwin said.

Boyle County Sheriff’s Department located him at his residence where he was in possession of the handgun.

Sevier was charged with first-degree wanton endangerment and taken to the Boyle County Detention Center. Baldwin said alcohol is suspected to be involved in the incident.
