Samuel Medley (November 19, 2012) |
One man was hospitalized and another arrested after a car struck a pedestrian early this morning on Main Street, Danville police said.
About 1:35 a.m., Samuel Medley, 20, of Louisville, was driving a 2007 Honda Civic and made a left turn onto Main Street from Maple Avenue under a green light, police said. However, Medley did not yield to pedestrian Anthony Brown, 18, of Berea, according to police.
Medley’s vehicle struck the lower half of Brown’s body, and the impact threw Brown into the Civic’s windshield, police said.
Brown was transported to Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
Medley, who was not injured in the collision, was arrested at the scene on a charge of driving under the influence of alcohol. As of this morning, he was booked in Boyle County Detention Center on a $600 cash bond.
