The man who was struck by a hit-and-run driver Tuesday not was not former Boyle County magistrate John C. Davis as was incorrectly reported in Wednesday's print edition of The Advocate-Messenger.

Due to a reporter's error, the victim of the incident, John T. Davis, 77, of 645 Lexington Ave., was mistaken for John C. Davis, 86, who lives on Highfield Road.

The newspaper regrets the mistake.
