Danville pedestrian hit by truck
A Danville man was airlifted to a Lexington hospital after being struck by a vehicle Tuesday afternoon at a downtown intersection.

Everette Stephens, 67, was walking in the intersection of South Third and West Walnut Street about 3:55 p.m. when he was hit by a 2008 Dodge truck driven by Deena Miller, 55, of Lawrenceburg.

Police said Miller was attempted to turn left from Third Street onto Walnut Street and hit Stephens while he was in the crosswalk.

Emergency personnel treated Stephens for unknown injuries at the scene and then transported him to Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center.

Later Tuesday, Stephens was flown to the University of Kentucky Chandler Medical Center.

Stephens was listed in fair condition this morning, a hospital spokesperson said.
