A Danville woman is being treated for minor injuries after a one-vehicle accident Monday in Garrard County.

About 12:45 p.m., Patricia Richardson of Danville was driving west on Ky. 52 just a few miles shy of the Boyle County line when she lost control of her vehicle and veered off the highway.

Trooper Frank Thornberry of Kentucky State Police said Richardson’s 2004 Chevy Impala traveled about five feet up a bank on the side of the highway, “which vaulted her into the air.”

Richardson’s vehicle landed upside-down in the middle of the highway.

She was wearing her seatbelt and did not suffer any life-threatening injuries.

First responder Colby Reik of Garrard County District 1 Fire Department said Richardson had a cut on her forehead and on the back of her head but was “alert and talking” when he arrived.

Richardson was taken to Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center and was in stable condition.
