Bob Allen Motor Mall received the 2012 RAM award for being the number one volume dealer of Dodge Ram trucks in eight states.

Winning the award for two consecutive years now, Bob Allen’s team sold 418 Ram trucks in 2012, besting more than 500 other dealers in Kentucky, Ohio, Indiana, Michigan, Tennessee, Illinois, Virginia and West Virginia.

During a ceremony Friday at the Dealership on Maple Avenue, owner Bob Allen said after 25 years of business he understands that “you have to know what you’re talking about.”

“I think it’s fantastic and quite something when you think of all the big cities... we could sell this many trucks in Danville,” he said.

Such an accomplishment is the result of hard work and simply knowing the language of trucks, said sales manager Joe Henderson. Henderson has been with Bob Allen for 19 years and said the dealership’s success proves how committed it is to training employees and pleasing customers.

Ram spokesman Hugo Schurr said Henderson is extremely dedicated to training his team and teaching them how to speak the truck language, which are qualities it takes to win the Ram award.

“The most important thing is people who have the ability to talk trucks,” Schurr said. “I’ve known Joe 20 years. He’s dedicated himself to learning trucks. The truck is a tool, not just something you ride around in.”

Allen said his business keeps at least 200 Rams stocked at a time and has a large selection of diesel models.

In addition to the award, Bob Allen Auto Mall ranks in the top 10-percent of the nation’s Customer Satisfaction Index.
