Juvenile charged after allegedly fleeing from Danville police
After allegedly fleeing from police during an attempted traffic stop, a juvenile was arrested Sunday in Danville.

Danville police said officer Jamie Ferrie observed Johnny Ellis, 17, driving recklessly on East Main Street in a black Chevrolet car.

Ferrie attempted to pull over the car, but Ellis refused to stop and proceeded to turn onto Hill-n-Dale Street, according to a press release.

Ellis pulled off at Burckley Homes, drove to the rear of the apartment complex and finally stopped the car.

He got out of his car and after a field-sobriety test, it was determined he was intoxicated, said Police Chief Tony Gray.

Ellis was arrested on charges of fleeing or evading police and driving under the influence of intoxicants.

At press time, police were trying to locate the owner of the Chevrolet to determine if Ellis had permission to drive it.
