Lassiter receives Outstanding Service Award (November 21, 2012) |
Jody Lassiter, president and chief executive officer of the Danville Boyle County Economic Development Partnership, received the Kentucky Association for Economic Development Outstanding Service Award in honor of the Kentucky Industrial Development Council Founders during a KAED awards luncheon Thursday in Bowling Green.
The award recognizes KAED members who pursue professional development through active participation in and support of KAED activities. Lassiter received this award previously in 2008.
KAED is the state’s premier organization dedicated to promoting and facilitating economic growth and development in Kentucky.
Its membership covers all parts of the state — from rural to urban areas — and KAED provides a broad array of resources and expertise to the field of economic development.
“I am humbled to be chosen for this award, as it recognizes service to our professional organization in honor of the hard work and vision of its founders back in 1967,” Lassiter said. “KAED has been a valuable resource for me in my economic development career, especially in the treasured relationships I have forged with my colleagues across the commonwealth. Because of what KAED means to me, I am always ready to give back by giving of my time and talents to improve the economic development profession and policies in our state.”
Lassiter has been a member of KAED since 2000. He has served on the board of directors since 2006 and was elected chairman for the 2010-2011 term. Lassiter is finishing his term as immediate past chairman and has been appointed to serve another year on the board as a director.
In 2010, Lassiter was awarded the KAED Chairman’s Award for exemplary service.
He also received the James Norris Gray Award for Professional Development in 2007 and East Kentucky Power’s James J. Coleman Community Economic Development Professional of the Year in 2009.
