A Danville man allegedly used a box cutter to assault another man sometime Saturday evening, police said.

Ronald K. Coleman, 41, of Danville, was lodged in Boyle County Detention Center as of this morning. He is charged with second-degree assault in connection with an altercation he allegedly had Saturday, police said.

Police were called to Russell¿Street about 7:30 p.m., where several witnesses reported that Coleman and the victim had a verbal disagreement. Coleman allegedly brandished a box cutter razor blade and cut the victim’s right palm, police said.

Coleman is being held on a $5,000 bond. If convicted of second-degree assault, a class C felony, he faces five to 10 years imprisonment.
