Mercer County grand jury indicts 10

HARRODSBURG — The following people were recently indicted by a Mercer County grand jury:

n Sam Devine, 68, of 264 Jim Forsythe Lane, cultivating more than five marijuana plants on Sept. 13. Bond was set at $5,000. Deputy Billy Whitenack testified before the grand jury.

n Winfield Williams, 50, 415 Daviess St., flagrant nonsupport for allegedly falling more than $5,000 behind on child support payments. Bond was set at $5,000. Stephanie Brock testified.

n Shawn Broduer, 34, 115 Greenville St., criminal mischief for allegedly causing more than $1,000 in damages to property owned by Joanna Searcy on May 27. Bond was set at $5,000. Searcy testified.

n Nathaniel Bruce Hasty, 28, of Junction City, flagrant nonsupport for allegedly falling more than $5,000 behind on child support payments. Bond was set at $5,000. 

n Mary Bush, 57, 830 N. College St., criminal facilitation to manufacture methamphetamine for allegedly aiding three others in the production of meth on July 16. Bond was set at $5,000. Harrodsburg Officer Jordan Lyons testified.

n David Akers, 58, 1370 Bellows Mill Road, failure to register as a sex offender on Sept. 10. Bond was set at $5,000. Deputy Scott Elder testified.

n Dustin L. Griffieth, 24, 682 W. Office St., third-degree rape and first-degree sexual abuse for allegedly having sex with an female less than 16 years old on July 31. Bond was set at $10,000. Whitenack testified.

n Randel Lee Smith, 39, 331 N. Greenville St., Burgin, two counts of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon on Sept. 17. Bond was set at $20,000. Burgin Police Chief Jim Caldwell testified. 

n Sherry Lynn Miner, 50, of Danville, two counts of forgery for allegedly having two forged checks totaling $323 and drawn on National City Bank on Feb. 24. Bond was set at $10,000. Elder testified.

n Brent Stewart, 31, 268 Johnson Road, burglary, theft more than $500 and two counts of being a persistent felony offender for allegedly breaking into the residence of Janet¿Steel on Sept. 27 and taking personal property. Bond was set at $50,000. Harrodsburg officer Tony Wesley testified.
