Man faces additional charge

HARRODSBURG — Kenneth Ray Cook, who was arrested in July after a manhunt that lasted several hours, was charged last week with possession of material portraying a sexual performance of a minor, according to Mercer County Chief Deputy Scott Elder.

When deputies went in July to serve a warrant on Cook, according to Elder, he fled the scene, prompting police to obtain help from law enforcement officials statewide.

This recent, additional charge resulted following the investigation of his home after the initial arrest.

Cook is placed in the Boyle County Detention Center.

Items stolen from storage building

HARRODSBURG — Officers responded to a report Nov. 21 of someone cutting the lock on a resident’s storage building, then stealing items inside as well as the lock.

Thieves removed a variety of tools and electrical equipment from the property on Marimon Avenue sometime between the evening of Nov. 20 and the morning of Nov. 21. Items were estimated to be worth about $2,223.

The case remains open.
