Power has been restored to Inter-County Energy members in the Highland, Waynesburg, Ottenheim, Crab Orchard and Green River sections of Lincoln County.
At 1:20 p.m. today, crews were able to successfully move all remaining members who were out of power from the Highland to the Gooch substation outside of Stanford.
If you live in one of the areas affected by power outages this morning and still do not have power, you’re asked to notify Inter-County Energy at 1-866-224-2235.
Inter-County Energy said freezing rain that began late Tuesday evening resulted in scattered outages in Garrard and Mercer counties. The outages affected small numbers of members, and power was restored late Tuesday evening.
Twenty-eight hundred Inter-County Energy members in the southern portion of Lincoln County were without power after an equipment failure at the Highland substation early this morning.
The Highland substation became non-operational at 4:30 a.m. when freezing rain was falling on southern Lincoln County. Crews were on site testing equipment to determine if the cause of the failure was weather-related.
