Danville police arrested a man Saturday evening after an alleged hit and run.
About 6 p.m., police responded to a disturbance call at Holladay Square Apartments at 25 Holladay Drive.
Witnesses told police that Moore intentionally struck a 2009 Hyundai Sonata driven by Veanita Smith, 39, of Danville.
Police said Smith’s two children were in the vehicle as well, when Moore’s Cavalier collided with the rear of Smith’s Sonata.
Police said Moore allegedly attempted to collide with the car again while Smith and the two minors fled the vehicle, resulting in Moore almost striking the trio and another bystander.
Upon arrival, police quickly located Moore fleeing the scene and traveling east on Lexington Avenue.
He was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, leaving the scene of an accident, no insurance, four counts of first-degree wanton endangerment, and an active Boyle County warrant for non-payment of fines.
Police Chief Tony Gray said the wanton endangerment charge is based on what witnesses told police. Whether he intentionally struck the vehicle will have to be determined in court.
Moore was lodged in the Boyle County Detention Center.
Nobody was injured during the incident.
