Danville police responded to a disturbance call on Colonel Drive about 12:40 a.m. Wednesday.
A Centre College student told police an ex-boyfriend, Hayden Williams, 19, of Sonora, entered her Lamotte Hall dorm room, according to dispatch. He then allegedly assaulted her, refused to leave or to allow the victim to leave.
Williams was initially identified as William T. Hayden by police.
Danville Assistant Police Chief Tom Bustle said the victim sustained minor injuries from the incident.
Williams, who had left the premises before police arrived, was picked up in Sonora by Kentucky State Police.
He was charged with assault, burglary and kidnapping.
Centre College Director of Communications Michael Strysick confirmed that Williams was formerly a student at the college but is not currently enrolled.
“We take the safety of our students, our campus, very seriously, so we are concerned about this incident,”¿he said. Strysick could not comment further about the situation, stating it is now a police matter and that Centre would await the outcome of the investigation.
