LANCASTER — Two of three suspects have been arrested in a string of burglaries that occurred early Monday morning.

Daniel C. Stovall, 42, of Plainfield, Ind., and Joshua C. Johnson, 38, of Indianapolis, Ind., were taken into custody Monday morning in Garrard County.

Lincoln County Sheriff Curt Folger said one of his special deputies observed Stovall get into a taxi cab in Lancaster. The deputy called Folger to inform him and proceeded to follow the vehicle that was headed toward Stanford.

“(The cab) stopped and picked up Johnson between Stanford and Lancaster,” Folger said. “They turned and headed back toward Lexington.”

Folger contacted dispatch to alert Garrard County and Lancaster police of the situation, while the Lincoln County deputy continued to follow the cab.

Once Folger arrived in Garrard County, the cab was pulled over on U.S 27.

Stovall and Johnson were arrested and lodged in the Lincoln County Regional Jail. Both are charged with second-degree burglary, but other charges are pending from surrounding counties.

The third suspect, Billy Dale Roach, 32, of Indianapolis, Ind., is still at large. A vehicle was reported stolen in Stanford, and Folger said it is a “good possibility” Roach stole the vehicle and fled the county.

The three suspects are believed to have burglarized a Parksville country store, Old Bridge Golf Course in Danville, Hill of Beans BP in Garrard County, Sal’s Marathon in Lincoln County, and Hardees in Junction City.

Police recovered stolen items in a Chevrolet TrailBlazer abandoned by the alleged burglars, along with Roach’s driver’s license.

All of the items are locked in evidence but should be returned to victims following investigation.
