Underage drunk driver identified as Junction City firefighter

Police have discovered that a reckless driver reportedly flashing emergency lights, was an underage volunteer firefighter, after a three-vehicle collision Thursday evening.

About 6:35 p.m., just minutes after Danville 911 Center was notified of a reckless driver flashing emergency lights on Ky. 34, Danville police were dispatched to a collision on West Broadway Street between North Third and Fourth streets.

Davis Brown, 20, of Danville was driving his beige SUV south on North Third Street. In an attempt to turn right onto West Broadway Street, Brown collided with a 1996 Buick car and 2002 Nissan minivan. Both the Buick and Nissan were parked and unoccupied, according to a press release.

At the scene, police discovered Brown’s SUV still had red emergency lights flashing. He was wearing partial firefighter gear and was identified as a volunteer firefighter for Junction City Fire Department. Brown was arrested by Danville Police, charged with a first-offense DUI and lodged in Boyle County Detention Center.
