Heart of Kentucky United Way, serving Boyle, Garrard, Lincoln and Mercer counties, is asking people to donate essential household items Wednesday during Day of Action to benefit those in need.

United Way is working to advance the common good by focusing on education, income and health.
All items collected will be given to the Family Resource Centers in Boyle, Garrard, Lincoln and Mercer coun- ties and distributed to children and families in need.

Bring donations to Millennium Park from 9-11 a.m. Listed below are examples of items needed.
Deodorant, alarm clocks, bars of soap, wash cloths, towels, hair barrettes, laundry baskets, toilet paper, sanitizing wipes, liquid soap, face wash, toothbrushes, lotion, garbage bags, toothpaste, mouthwash, shampoo, conditioner, feminine products, hairbrushes, combs, cleaning supplies, laundry detergent, dryer sheets, fabric softener, paper towels, dishwashing liquid, first aid kits, hand sanitizer, diapers, baby wipes, underwear, socks, belts and undershirts.
