A Danville man was arrested Thursday evening after he allegedly burglarized a woman’s apartment.
About 5 p.m., Danville police responded to 307 W. Main St. where the victim told police a man entered her kitchen through a rooftop window.
Police said the suspect fled on foot without taking anything from the apartment.
He was seen running eastbound on Main Street toward Chase Bank, police said.
After an investigation, the victim identified Austin T. Gibson, 19, of Danville as the suspect.
“She thought she knew him and had a good description of him,” said Danville Police Chief Tony Gray.
“It was fairly quick. They were able to catch him by the description she gave.”
At 9:20 p.m., Gray said police caught Gibson at 104 Ashford Drive.
He was arrested on a second-degree burglary charge and lodged in the Boyle County Detention Center.
