Senior food program applications being accepted

Blue Grass Community Action Partnership is taking applications for the commodity supplemental food program for senior citizens age 60 and older who meet the income guidelines set forth by the program. For more information, call (859) 236-2955 or apply in person at 225 W. Walnut St. in Danville between the hours of 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.

 

Ham breakfast

Danville Masonic Lodge will have a country ham breakfast 7-10 a.m. Saturday at the lodge hall, 400 N. Fourth St. The menu includes country ham, sausage, bacon, pancakes, eggs, broiled potatoes, biscuit, gravy, coffee, orange juice and pastries.

 

Golf discount book benefitting ALA on sale

This year’s Golf Tour Book is now available for purchase from the American Lung Association for $35 each or four for $105.

The book is good for more than 5,000 discounted rounds at more than 500 golf courses, practice ranges and indoor facilities in Kentucky, Indiana, Tennessee and three other states. Local golf facilities with discounts in the book include Old Bridge Golf Club in Danville.

Each participating course offers a reduced rate for one or more plays; some courses allow golfers to play one round per month; 132 clubs offer unlimited rounds.

Box 9067, Louisville, KY 40209. Copies are also available at AAA branches in Louisville, Elizabethtown, Owensboro, Bowling Green and Paducah.

 

Meetings

Lincoln County Republican Party — 7-8 p.m. Monday at the First Southern Community Arts Center for its monthly meeting. Please note the change in location. The candidates running for state representative for House District 80 are invited and they will each be given five minutes to speak. The group also will discuss ideas for expanding the presence of the party.
