Crab Orchard issues advisory
CRAB¿ORCHARD — All customers using the Crab Orchard water system are under a boil-water advisory until further notice.At 3:05 p.m. Friday, Crab Orchard’s water department issued the advisory due to a recent water line break that has the potential to contaminate the water system.Residents of the impacted areas should bring water meant for drinking or cooking to a rolling boil for three minutes before using it.
Water advisories lifted in Mercer
HARRODSBURG — A boil-water advisory for the city of Harrodsburg was lifted Friday afternoon and all remaining Mercer County advisories were lifted by Saturday afternoon.Harrodsburg Water Treatment Plant Supervisor Walter Bottoms said no further water projects requiring advisories are planned at this time.
CASA training starts Tuesday
CASA at Woodlawn will begin volunteer advocate training 6 p.m. Tuesday at the CASA at Woodlawn office.
CASA volunteers speak for the needs of neglected and abused children in the court system. The volunteers speak with the children as well as others involved in the children’s lives like parents, grandparents, teachers, counselors, medical professionals and others, and present their findings to Judge Bruce Petrie during case hearings.

Hustonville kindergarten registration
Hustonville Elementary School will have kindergarten registration for the 2012-2013 school year 9 a.m.-2 p.m. April 16.
Residents of the Hustonville attendance area with a child who will be 5 years old by Oct. 1 can register the child for kindergarten. Children 6 years old by Oct. 1 must be registered for kindergarten.
Each child registered will be given a short assessment that day by kindergarten teachers. The school must have the following paperwork on file before a child can attend school: official birth certificate, updated immunization record, dental exam and physical and eye exam.

Junction City kindergarten registration
Junction City Elementary School will have Kindergarten registration and orientation 5:30 p.m. April 16 in the school library. Children in the Junction City attendance area turning 5 years old before Oct. 1 need to be registered for kindergarten.
Items that must be brought to registration include the child’s certified birth certificate, current immunization certificate, Social Security card, documentation of recent physical, record of recent eye exam and record of recent dental exam.
