Pills taken in pharmacy burglary

 

Danville police are seeking information about a burglary that happened Friday night at the Medicine Shoppe Pharmacy.

At about 11:20 p.m., police officers responded to an alarm at the Hustonville Road business. The glass to a side door of the business had been shattered and an undetermined amount of medication was stolen. Officers also found numerous bottles of medicine dropped in the parking lot.

Danville men arrested after chase

 

Two¿Danville men were jailed on numerous charges after allegedly fleeing city police on foot Thursday.

About 3:10 p.m., a Danville officer went to 408 N. Sixth St. to arrest Lamar M.¿Ford, 24, on two Boyle County indictments and several outstanding contempt of court warrants. When the officer arrived, he saw Ford and Tai Doram, 20, sitting in a silver Dodge passenger car. The officer tried to talk to Ford, but he fled on foot, according to police. As the officer chased Ford, Doram also allegedly fled on foot. Officers soon apprehended both men.

Ford and Doram were both lodged in the Boyle County Detention Center. Ford was being held on a $20,000 cash bond on charges of second-degree fleeing or evading police, three counts of trafficking cocaine, possession of marijuana and four counts of contempt of court. Doram was being held on a $27,000 cash bond on charges of first-degree trafficking cocaine (second offense), parole violation, second-degree fleeing or evading police, tampering with physical evidence, possession of marijuana, contempt of court and failure to appear. 

Court dates had not been set for either man as of press time.
