Driver arrested after crash in Danville

One woman was injured and another arrested in connection with a single-vehicle crash late Saturday in Danville, police said.

About 11:40 p.m., Kristen Heyne, 41, of Stanford, was driving a 2007 Kia Optima westbound on Ky. 2168 near the intersection of U.S. 127 North, police said. She allegedly ran a stop sign, traveled across the bypass and hit an embankment on the west side of the bypass. 

There were no other vehicles involved in the crash.

Heyne’s front-seat passenger, Debra Salvador, 55, of Stanford, was transported to Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center with non-life-threatening head injuries, police said.

Heyne was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and taken to Boyle County Detention¿Center. As of this morning, she was no longer in custody.
