Danville Christmas parade set

The downtown Danville Christmas Parade will be 7 p.m. Nov. 24 on Main Street. The mayor’s Christmas tree lighting will take place prior to the parade at 6 p.m. in Weisiger Park. The theme for this year’s parade will be “Classic Christmas Characters.”


To receive a parade entry form, email the Heart of Danville at info@downtowndanville.com or call (859) 236-1909 to be placed on the mailing list. Deadline for entries is Wednesday.

Immigration to be discussed

The issue of immigration will be the focus of a program at 7 p.m. Thursday at Danville city hall. The program, sponsored by Citizens Concerned for Human Relations, will feature three speakers who will give brief introductions followed by discussion. They are Juan Pena with the Kentucky Commission on Human Rights, Marilyn S. Daniel with Lexington’s Maxwell Street Legal Clinic, and Kent Mann with Centro Latino.

The program, “Immigration: Confronting Our Misconceptions,” will explore how immigrants have affected our communities. It is free and open to the public. People are encouraged to come to listen and ask questions.



Meeting

Garrard County Board of Education — 7 p.m. today at Lancaster Elementary School. Agenda includes presentation regarding bonds.


Revival

Charity First Church of God will have a revival Wednesday through Sunday, with evangelist Dan Frederick. Services will begin with singing at 6:30 p.m., followed by the church service at 7 p.m.
