Dr. Charles Sisk

Dr. Charles Sisk (May 26, 2012)

Dr. Charles W. Sisk, loving husband, father, brother, and physician, passed away Thursday, May 24, 2012, at his Danville residence. 

Born Nov. 19, 1921, in Letcher County, Ky., he was a son of the late Walter and Lena Fields Sisk, and the husband of 66 years of Pearl McMillan Sisk.

Dr. Sisk served his country in the United States Navy during World War II, practiced family medicine in Danville for many years, was a member of Lexington Avenue Baptist Church, and enjoyed being outdoors and fishing.  

Along with his wife Pearl, he is survived by a son, Charles W. Sisk Jr. and his wife Stephanie of Western Springs, Ill.; a daughter, Alice Sisk Kiviniemi of Versailles; two grandchildren, Alison and Charlie Sisk, both of Western Springs; a sister, Phyllis Thomas of Danville; a cousin, George (Mildred) Sisk of Hendersonville, Tenn.; two nieces, Lynette (Tim) Gullett and Phyllis (Loren) Beckham, both of Danville; and several other nieces and nephews.

Funeral services are 4 p.m. today at Preston-Pruitt Funeral Home with Dr. Tommy Valentine officiating. 

Visitation is from 2-4 p.m. today at the funeral home. 

The family would like to thank the doctors and caregivers of Dr. Sisk.
