Jane Fant Larson, 92, died peacefully at her home on Tuesday, June 12, 2012.
Born Dec. 1, 1919, in New Albany, Indiana, she was a daughter of the late Virginia and Walter Fant. She was predeceased by her husband, F.T. Larson, and her sister, Mary Dudley Woods.
Survivors include her children, Virginia (Alan) Schneider, David Larson, and Karen (Taylor) Losson; four grandsons; three great-grandchildren; and her niece, Mary Gardner Helton.
A retired social worker, Jane was also an avid and excellent golfer, an astute duplicate bridge player, and a great lover of dogs. In her younger years, she was well known for her fine soprano voice. A keen intellectual curiosity remained with Jane throughout her life, and she was a proud, liberal Democrat. She was a graduate of Centre College.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at The Presbyterian Church. Visitation will be after 5 p.m. Thursday at Stith Funeral Home.
