Hit-and-run reported
HARRODSBURG — Police were called to the scene of a hit and run March 14 on South Chiles Street.
Matthew Hart reported that his black 2008 Infiniti G37 was parked on the street between noon and 5 p.m. Thursday when it was struck by an unknown vehicle on the left side. It caused minor damage.
Man assaulted
HARRODSBURG — When leaving his home on North Magnolia Street at about 10:30 p.m. March 16, a man was assaulted and robbed.
The suspects were reportedly two unknown black males, one about 6 feet, 1 inch, and the other about 5 feet, 8 inches. Both were wearing dark clothing.
They took the victim’s wallet, which contained personal items, identification and $80 in cash. He sustained injuries to the face and head.
Home burglarized
HARRODSBURG — Police were called to Marimon Avenue when a resident reported someone entered and removed items from his home on March 13 at about 9:30 p.m.
An unknown person or persons entered the home of Jason Daley, taking two Kindle Fires, valued at about $250 each, and one Sony Xperia cell phone, valued at about $449.
Firearm stolen
HARRODSBURG — Police are searching for the person who removed a firearm from a vehicle parked at Wendy’s on North College Street at about 7 p.m. March 16.
Austin Lathrem, of Salvisa, reported the theft of his Sig Sauer pistol, with a 15 round magazine, and paddle holster to Harrodsburg Police later that night. The items are valued at about $650. Police request anyone with information to contact the department.
Items stolen from car
HARRODSBURG — A woman contacted police after her car was entered and items were stolen on March 14 on East Factory Street.
The unknown persons entered a car belonging to Bridget Logue, removing a silver iPad and a black case with blue etching. The value of the items is about $600. Anyone with information is requested to contact Harrodsburg Police.
Man attempts to flee scene
LIBERTY — While being stopped by police, a man attempted to flee the scene, resulting in a wreck about two miles north of Liberty on U.S. 127 on Saturday.
Ronald Scott, 41, of Radcliff, was stopped by police after he was observed for reckless driving. According to the Liberty Police Department, Scott was driving southbound on U.S. 127 and was weaving into oncoming traffic. After police stopped him, Scott initially gave a false name and was driving without identification. It was determined there were multiple warrants in Hardin County for Scott.
In an attempt to flee, he backed into an officer’s car, eventually turning and driving toward police. He then left in the car, owned by Michelle Edwards, heading northbound on U.S. 127. Casey County Sheriff’s Department also was contacted as Scott left city limits. He lost control of his vehicle while rounding a curve, which caused him to cross into the southbound lane and strike a guardrail. He then crossed back into the northbound lane, striking another guardrail, before coming to rest about two miles north of Liberty.
Scott was taken to Casey County Hospital via ambulance before being flown to University of Kentucky. He is now lodged in the Hardin County Detention Center, where he is additionally charged with fleeing, wanton endangerment and reckless driving. Alcohol is not suspected to be a cause in the crash.
