A Casey County man was injured Wednesday night when the car he was riding in ran off the road and crashed into an embankment in Marion County.
According to Kentucky State Police, James M. Steele, 21, of Liberty was taken to Springview Hospital in Lebanon, where he was treated and released following the crash, which occurred about 8:40 p.m. on Ky. 52 within the city limits of St. Francis.
Steele was a passenger in a 2005 Toyota driven by Kelly Cox, 21, of Campbellsville. Police said Cox was traveling east when her car dropped off the side of the road and she lost control as she tried to correct, striking an embankment. She was also treated at the hospital and released, police said.
Both were wearing seat belts. Trooper Fred Cornett is investigating.
