Church yard sale Saturday

Trinity Episcopal Church will have an ABC Yard Sale 9 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Saturday. The attic, basement and closet sale is an annual fundraiser to benefit charities supported by the church at 320 W. Main St. in Danville.

 

Waynesburg Spring Fling Friday

WAYNESBURG — Waynesburg Elementary School will have a Spring Fling beginning 5 p.m. Friday. The event will include food, fun, singing and a live auction. “Turtle Man” will be in the gym from 5 to 7 p.m.

 

Funeral benefit to be held

LIBERTY — A benefit will be held Saturday at Gateway Park for the funeral expenses of Clarence W. Griffin.

A full breakfast will be served 8-11 a.m. Lunch will be served 11 a.m.-3 p.m. and will consist of beans and cornbread or hamburger and chili dog served with chips. Between 2 and 8 p.m., dinner will be available and will include fried chicken and three sides, or lasagna with garlic bread.

All meals include a drink. Lunch and dinner will include a dessert. A live band will play from 2 to 8 p.m. The cost is $4 for breakfast; $4 for lunch; and $6 for dinner and live entertainment.

A silent auction will be held throughout the day for miscellaneous items and will end at 6 p.m. Carry-out and pick-up orders will be available. Gateway Park is on U.S. 127 in Liberty. Going into Liberty, go to the second stoplight, turn left at the intersection and then take an immediate right.

 

Insurance education volunteers wanted

The Bluegrass SHIP Program, which helps people understand their Medicare benefits, bills and rights, is looking for volunteers who want a meaningful way to help their friends, neighbors and community.

SHIP provides its health insurance education services for free to Medicare beneficiaries, their families and their caregivers. Volunteers can help educate people about Medicare, promote the program or assist with administrative work, among other options.

Redbud motorcycle ride planned

SOMERSET — TOUR Southern and Eastern Kentucky will sponsor its third annual Redbud Motorcycle Ride along the Red River Gorge National Scenic Byway on April 21. Registration is 10-11:30 am.

Riders will cruise from Berea to the Slade Welcome Center in Powell County, near Natural Bridge Sate Resort Park. Registration for the non-guided ride is at the train depot in the Old Town section of Berea. Registration is $10 for singles and $15 for doubles.
