Herb and Craft Festival this month
LANCASTER — Nature’s Thyme Herb Group and the Gov. Owsley House are co-sponsoring the fourth annual Herb and Craft Festival from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. April 28 at the Owsley House.
Representatives from farmers markets, extension services and garden clubs, as well as master gardeners will have information available and be on hand to answer questions. Plants, seeds and herbal products will be available to purchase.
Booth space is available to interested vendors of original hand-made crafts and herbal and gardening products by calling the Garrard County Extension Office at (859) 792-3026.

No driver testing Thursday
The Boyle County driver’s license examiner will not be testing Thursday due to a shortage in Kentucky State Police driver’s license examiners. Testing will resume 8 a.m. Monday.
Sidewalk sale this weekend
Heart of Danville Main Street Program is having a “Spring Has Sprung” sidewalk sale April 20-21 in downtown Danville.
Ten stores are participating: A&L Accessories, Community Arts Center Gift Shop, Danville Bike and Footwear, The Derby Shoppe & Raggs, The Hub Coffee House and Café, Karamel Kreations, Maple Tree Gallery, Muddy Creek Primitives, Myrtle’s Market and Thoroughbred Threads.
Each store will have sales during these two days. Shoppers will receive a punch-card and if they visit every participating retailer to get their cards punched, they will be entered into a drawing to win a gift basket full of goodies from all of the sidewalk sale stores.
Motorcycle run set for Saturday
The 13th annual Heritage Hospice Motorcycle Poker Run will be held Saturday beginning at Heritage Hospice, 120 Enterprise Drive, next to Dana Corp. Registration begins at 10 a.m.; the ride begins at noon.

Free health screenings offered
Ephraim McDowell Health is sponsoring free health screenings from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Salvation Army in Danville.
Health screenings that will be offered are glucose, blood pressure, body mass index, stroke risk score card and colorectal cancer screening kits (over age 50). After the screenings are complete, participants will have the opportunity to discuss their results with a licensed health professional.
The screenings are open to the public for anyone 18 and older. Call (859) 236-4473 for an appointment. Walk-ins are welcome.
Mercer County Board of Education — 5:30 p.m. Thursday in the auditorium of Mercer County Senior High School. Agenda items include capital outlay report, discussion of a shorter school day for special ed students and discussion of archery.
