LIBERTY — Two Lincoln County men were indicted by a Casey County grand jury for allegedly taking several pieces of equipment from Hickory Hills Country Club.
Brandon Christopher Schmiers, 28, and Trevor Wayne Sims, 23, both of Stanford, each were charged with two counts of burglary, two counts of theft and four counts of being persistent felony offenders.
According to the indictments, Schmiers and Sims broke into the club’s maintenance and golf cart storage buildings on April 22 and took a golf cart belonging to Joe Emerson and a riding mower, weed-eaters and other equipment belonging to the club.
Bonds were set at $2,500 each. Deputy Chad Weddle testified before the grand jury.
Others indicted were:
- Mazen Homsi, 19, Ramzi Homsi, 18, both of 723 Hustonville St., and Nathan Lee Burns, 18, of 2455 Minors Branch Road, theft more than $500 for allegedly taking tractor weights and other steel items from White’s Woodworking June 7. Burns also was indicted for allegedly taking a trailer belonging to Alan King on June 7. Bond information unavailable. Weddle and Deputy Jamie Walters testified.
- Brandon James Cooper, 22, and Michael A. Tetreault, 20, both of 1168 E. Ky. 70, burglary and theft more than $500 for allegedly breaking into Extreme Motorsports and taking an ATV on June 26; and two counts of being a persistent felony offender. Bonds were set at $2,500 each. Liberty Police Chief Steven Garrett testified.
- Joseph Thomas Tetreault, 27, of 1352 Ky. 1547, receiving stolen property for allegedly having possession of an ATV stolen from Extreme Motorsports on June 26. Bond was set at $2,500. Garrett testified.
- Clinton D. Smith, 26, of 2215 Sims Branch Road, and Samantha L. Robbins, 23, of 1487 Shugars Hill Road, alleged manufacturing and possession of methamphetamine on April 8. Bonds were set at $10,000 each. Deputy Dennis Allen testified.
