MOUNT VERNON — A single-vehicle crash in Rockcastle County claimed the lives of two area women Wednesday morning.
Lagina Snow, 43, of Stanford, and Tammy Griffin, 39, of Lancaster, were both killed when their pickup truck crashed at the intersection of U.S. 150 and Ky. 70 about three miles west of Mount Vernon.
According to Kentucky State Police, Snow was driving the 1997 Dodge Ram when it crashed about 9:30 a.m. Snow and Griffin were both ejected and pronounced dead at the scene, police said.
Witnesses told officers that a man who was also in the truck at the time of the crash fled the scene before emergency workers arrived. The identity and whereabouts of the man remain unknown this morning, police said.
Trooper Darren Allen of the KSP post in London is investigating.
