LANCASTER — A preliminary autopsy showed no signs of trauma to the body of the 47-year-old woman who was found dead on her porch on Tuesday, officials said.
It could take at least two full weeks for state medical examiners to determine how Angela “Ann” Salata died, Garrard County Coroner Daryl Hodge said this morning.
Salata had been dead for two or three days when on Tuesday afternoon her sister discovered her body on the porch of her home at 118 Ridgecrest Drive, Hodge said. Kentucky State Police is treating the case as a typical death investigation, and foul play is not suspected at this time.
Salata had some medical conditions that may have contributed to her death, but due to the body’s level of decomposition, medical examiners could not immediately determine if those played a role, according to Hodge.
Salata’s two children are staying with their father in Chicago this summer, and the porch of her property was such that neighbors did not notice the body, Hodge said.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Woods Family Cemetery in Lancaster. Betts and West Funeral Home in Nicholasville is handling the arrangements.
