Strysick

Danville-Boyle County Convention and Visitors Bureau is pleased to announce Centre College Director of Communications Michael P. Strysick has joined the CVB Board of Directors.
Strysick’s appointment to the board, recommended by the Danville-Boyle County Chamber of Commerce, was unanimously approved by the Danville City Commission Monday night. The appointment was previously approved by the Boyle County Fiscal Court.
“As a new resident of what is one of America’s great small towns, I was quickly won over by the warm and welcoming spirit of my new neighbors, the wonderful educational opportunities for my children, and the spirit of innovation and growth that has revitalized the downtown business district,” said Strysick. “I consider it an honor to serve in my new volunteer role with the Convention and Visitors Bureau, and I am pledged to help continue this positive momentum. The deep roots of the City of Danville and Boyle County are a key reason that this exciting area of the commonwealth is truly the heart of the Bluegrass. I look forward to helping spread this word far and wide so others can see that we truly are the jewel in the crown of small-town Kentucky.”
Chamber Executive Director Paula Fowler said the Chamber was thrilled Strysick accepted the invitation to be the Chamber’s recommendation to the board.
“We are delighted to have someone  chamber recommendation to the CVB Board. Michael’s invaluable expertise and education will be welcomed to one of our community’s economic development organizations,” said Fowler.
“Michael will be a wonderful addition to the board,” said Adam Johnson, Executive Director of the CVB. “His knowledge in the marketing and communications arena is outstanding, and we look forward to gaining his perspective.”
Strysick joined the Centre College staff in April continuing a nearly 20-year college career split evenly between a faculty member and administrator.
Prior to Centre College, Strysick most recently served as executive director of college relations and associate vice president for institutional advancement at Austin College in Sherman, Texas.
