Bloodmobile to visit Boyle library
The Kentucky Blood Center will have a blood drive from noon-4:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Boyle County Public Library in the Heart of Danville Community Room. Every donor will be entered to win one of five $25 Walmart gift cards.
Forgo your T-shirt when you donate and the Kentucky Blood Center will give the value of it to the Salvation Army. This can provide healthy snacks for four children; two meals for homeless women and children; Gatorade and snacks for three firefighters; or a hat and gloves for a homeless person. Boyle seniors to host open house
The Danville-Boyle County Senior Citizens Center will have Christmas open house 6-8 p.m. Dec. 6. The Danville Dulcimers will provide the entertainment. The event is open to the public and we welcome all ages to tour our facility. For more information, call (859) 236-2070.
Humane society offers pet photos with Santa
NICHOLASVILLE — Central Kentucky Regional Humane Society will be set up Dec. 9 at the Petsmart in Brannon Crossing in Nicholasville, offering pet photos with Santa. For every photo, a donation will be made to the non-profit organization.
Junction City collecting toys
JUNCTION CITY — The fourth annual Open House/Toy Drive will be 2-5 p.m. on Dec. 9 at the Stith Family Center on Main Street in Junction City. Everyone is asked to bring an unwrapped toy, book or puzzle to the event for a child in need. Light refreshments will be served. All of the toys will remain in the community. Library to host book sale
STANFORD — Lincoln County Public Library will hold a book sale this week upstairs in the library.
Hours are 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Wednesday; 9 a.m.-8 p.m. Thursday; 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Friday; and 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday.

Financial aid on tap at BCHS
Boyle County High School is having its annual Financial Aid Night for students and parents 6:30-7:30 p.m. Tuesday in the school library.
Jo Newton from the Kentucky Higher Education Assistance Authority will present information about the Free Application for Federal Student Aid and other financial aid topics. She will be available for questions after the presentation.
