Danville police have made an arrest in the search of a suspect in Saturday’s CVS robbery.
After obtaining a search warrant for 990 Tank Pond Rd. in Parksville, A.J. Mullins and three other detectives arrested Johnny D. Satterly, 37, at about 11:50 a.m. Wednesday.
Danville police chief Tony Gray said he cannot comment on what led detectives to Satterly as a suspect.
About 8:40 p.m. Saturday, Danville police responded to the CVS pharmacy on Second Street after reports of a robbery.
Witnesses say the suspect entered the store and walked to the pharmacy area where he demanded oxycontin, lortabs and percocets from the pharmacy staff.
“They just said he came in and asked them for pills, to hand them over,” Gray said.
Gray said the suspect told pharmacy staff he would start shooting if it didn’t “look natural.”
Pharmacy staff surrendered pills to the suspect.
“He implied that he had a weapon,” Gray said. “But they (witnesses) didn’t see one, which doesn’t really make a difference.”
Witnesses said the suspect fled in a late 1990s or early 2000s model Ford Ranger single-cab pickup truck with a black tool box in the bed.
He was described as a white male, 5-feet 8-inches to 6 feet tall, with reddish-gray hair, a gray goatee, and wearing light-colored blue jeans, brown work boots and a blue jacket with a white stripe across the chest.
Satterly was arrested for first-degree robbery and lodged in the Boyle County Detention Center.
