Applications are being accepted

HARRODSBURG — Habitat for Humanity Mercer County is accepting applications to build a home in Harrodsburg with a Partner Family. All applicants must attend an informational meeting to get an application at 5 p.m. Jan. 31 or 9 a.m. Feb. 2 at the Mercer County Public Library, 109 W. Lexington St. Plan to be there for two hours.

Book club will meet Jan. 8

The Paint Lick Book Club will meet at 7 p.m. Jan. 8 at the Paint Lick Community Arts Center. This month, the book to be discussed will be “The Pioneer Woman: Black Heels to Tractor Wheels — A Love Story” by Ree Drummond. A New York Times Bestseller, this is the story of how blogger Ree Drummond fell in love with her husband and changed her whole life. Copies of the book are available at the Paint Lick Community Arts Center. The group will be moderated by Laura McWilliams, director of the Garrard County Public Library.
