Meetings

Tween Advisory Group — 4 p.m. today at the Boyle County Public Library. This service-oriented volunteer group gives tweens a forum to give input on tween programs, materials and other services.

Economic Development Partnership Board — 8 a.m. Wednesday at the Boyle County Public Library.

 

Casey County Spring Fling set

LIBERTY — The Casey County Second Annual “Spring Fling” will be 9 a.m.-5 p.m. March 9 at the Central Kentucky AG/EXPO Center. There will be vendor showcases, shopping, contests, the Easter Bunny and door prizes. Booth fees will be donated to Community Ministries and Disaster Relief Fund.

FRYSCky Girls Night Out Purse Auction

The FRYSCky Girls Night Out Purse Auction will be 3-7 p.m. March 16 at Boyle County High School. The fundraiser is to benefit all five Boyle County Family Resource and Youth Service Centers that serve all students and families in Boyle County schools. 

The event will feature silent and live auctions of many types of purses, totes and luggage. Live auction items will be modeled by students of Boyle County schools and each item auctioned contains a mystery item or gift card donated from area businesses. 

Many vendors will be set up in the lobby and free refreshments will be served. 

 

Garrard County Public Library events this week

Story Hour — 10 a.m. every Wednesday and 1 p.m. every Thursday for toddlers and preschoolers.

Gaming 4 U — 3:30 p.m. every other Wednesday, beginning this week. Wii gaming is open to all teens ages 13-18.

New release movie night — 5 p.m. Thursday. This week’s movie is about militants who seize control of the U.S. embassy in Tehran during the height of the Iranian Revolution. CIA agent Tony Mendez creates a fake Hollywood film production to rescue a group of American diplomats who have sought refuge at the home of the Canadian ambassador. Inspired by actual events. Rated R.

Basic computer skills class — 1 p.m. Friday. This free computer class is to improve computer skills.

Toddler time registration — 6 p.m. every Thursday beginning March 6. Registration is required by calling (859) 792-3424.
