Auxiliaries raising awareness of heart disease

To raise awareness for heart disease in women, the Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center and Ephraim McDowell Fort Logan Hospital auxiliary gift shops are encouraging everyone to wear red Friday, which is National Wear Red Day. Anyone who wears red into either of the gift shops will receive a 25 percent discount on their entire purchase.

Heart disease is the nation’s number one killer of women. Nearly a half-million women will lose their life to the disease this year — that’s approximately one death per minute.
