Kindergarten jump-start set
Casey County schools will have a kindergarten jump-start for new kindergarten students for the upcoming school year. The event will be 8:30 a.m.-noon July 23-25 at Jones Park, Walnut Hill and Liberty elementary schools. Students should attend the event at their school. Breakfast and lunch will be provided.
Concealed carry class set
A concealed carry class will be held 9 a.m. to completion Saturday. The class is offered by the state Department of Criminal Justice Training. For more information and class availability, call (859) 332-7728 or 583-5716. Instructor is Jimmy Elliott.
Open house planned at Hustonville Elementary

Rotary Club supports school project
The Rotary Club of Danville is participating in a community project titled “Stuff the School Bus” to benefit the Boyle County Schools Family Resource Center, Danville Schools Family Resource Center and Youth Service Center. Individuals and businesses are encouraged to purchase school supplies and clothes to help benefit the centers’ needs when school starts.
A list of items needed, as well as school bus boxes to drop off your items, are located at Community Trust Bank, Cornerstone Church, Dollar General in Perryville, Farmers National Bank, Faith Church, First Baptist Church of Danville, Nationwide Insurance and Woodlawn Elementary School. Additionally, a list of supplies and clothing that are needed are posted at Walmart.

The campaign will run through Aug. 10.
The Rotary Club of Danville, which was chartered in 1926, meets at noon each Friday at the Danville Country Club.
