Spay/neuter SNAP
vouchers available
LANCASTER — The Central Kentucky Regional Humane Society has Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program vouchers available to those who need to spay or neuter their companion dogs. Community members interested in obtaining a voucher may stop by the facility at 214 Richmond St., from noon to 6 p.m. Tuesday through Friday to fill out the paperwork, pay the fee, schedule an appointment and pick up the SNAP voucher. The SNAP vouchers are available to assist with the cost of a spay or neuter for companion dogs at one of the participating vets collaborating with CKYRHS. The SNAP vouchers also are income sensitive. For those who need additional assistance, a sliding scale is in place to offset the $35 co-pay fee.
Vacation Liberty School
to be held in Danville
The Danville Kentucky 9/12 Project will be conducting a “Vacation Liberty School” for children ages 10-15, from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Aug. 1-5 at Faith Church, 4080 South Danville Bypass.
This is just one of an estimated 130 programs that will take place around the country this summer. It is a play on the familiar vacation bible school that is a staple for churches in the summer, but this program aims to educate students on the principles of the Founding Fathers and the nation.
“Just as we the citizens of the United States of America bear the ultimate responsibility to ensure that liberty persists in our great nation, we also bear the ultimate responsibility to teach the generations that follow us the principles from which that liberty flows,” said Jeff Abler a founder of Vacation Liberty School. “Only through such diligence can freedom be perpetually maintained over the centuries to come.”
While there will be more than 100 patriot camps this summer across the nation and an equal estimated amount of Vacation Liberty Schools as well — Kentucky was the start of this phenomenon last year, holding the first in the country.
