Hospice yard sale is Saturday
Heritage Hospice will host a yard sale from 7:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Saturday at its office building at 120 Enterprise Drive off Lebanon Road, across from A Children's Place.
American Legion to have breakfast
American Legion Post 46 will have a breakfast 7-10 a.m. Saturday at the legion hall.
Public hearing on school plan is today
The Kentucky Board of Education has scheduled a local state board public hearing on the proposed Danville Schools district facility plan for 6 p.m. today at the central office, 152 E. Martin L. King Blvd. The plan lists pending capital construction and renovation projects the school district may undertake and order of priority.
Individuals wishing to comment on the proposed plan may present oral or written comments public hearing.
The board of education, after due process, will forward the approved plan to the state Department of Education for approval.
Deadline set for festival workshop
PAINT LICK — Field to Fork Festival’s second annual series of sustainable living and gardening workshops will be July 21 at Halcomb’s Knob Farm, six miles from downtown Paint Lick.
Registration is open for the festival’s 15 gardening and sustainable living workshops. Presented by a variety of instructors from educational institutions, professional agribusinesses and non-profit organizations, these workshop sessions provide participants with the opportunity to learn more about planting a home or market vegetable garden; raising blueberries; keeping bees; processing cheeses, yogurts, salsas, beers and meads from home; constructing rainwater collection systems; farming fundamentals; pest management; composting and more.
Beginners through intermediate, youth and adult growers are welcome. Seats for these popular workshops are filling up fast. Costs vary by workshop, but all fees include complimentary festival admission. Registration by June 15 is required.
F2F will be 9 a.m.-6 p.m. July 21 with more than 35 Kentucky agricultural producers, retail vendors and non-profit exhibitors onsite, 15 outdoor learning workshop sessions, nine live sustainable gardening and/or animal husbandry demonstrations, and interaction with farm animals.
