Benefit to help crash victim’s son

Dairy Queen in Danville will help raise money Wednesday for the son of a fatal crash victim.

The restaurant will donate 10 percent of sales from 5 to 9 p.m. Wednesday toward the college fund of the late Josh Lawhorn’s son, Karson, who is now 3.

Lawhorn was on his way home from work two years ago to take his son to a 6-month checkup when he lost control of his vehicle on U.S. 127 in Casey County and was hit by an oncoming truck.

Kayla Sizemore, an employee at Danville Dairy Queen, heard the story and wanted to help by putting together a benefit.

Family and friends will wear special shirts in Lawhorn’s memory at the benefit.
