Church plans revival

St. James AME Church, 124 East Walnut St., Danville, will have  three-day revival 7 p.m. Wednesday through Friday with the Rev. Michael Rice as guest minister. 

 

Centre to host free concert Thursday

Two of Centre College’s top instrumental ensembles will perform Thursday on  campus. The Centre Orchestra and the Kentucky Ensemble will be in concert at 8 p.m. in the Campus Center. 

The orchestra, under the direction of Dr. Jaemi Loeb, will play a concerto for banjo, featuring composer Dr. Timothy Lake as guest performer. 

The Kentucky Ensemble, under special guest director Conrad Shiba, will perform a blend of traditional selections and new favorites. The concert is free and open to the public.

 

Meetings

 Casey County Hospital District board of trustees — Meeting for today has been cancelled due to illness.

Garrard County Board of Education — 7 p.m. today at Camp Dick Robinson Elementary School.

Danville Cemetery Committee — 4:45 p.m. Thursday in the city hall conference room.

Hogsett Elementary School Council — 3:30 p.m. Wednesday in the school library at 300 Waveland Ave. The council will continue the Hogsett principal selection process and review and discuss applications with no action taken. 

Garrard County Fiscal Court — 10 a.m. Thursday. Agenda includes opening road bids and a presentation by ServPro.

Due to a reporter’s error, Amy Byrd was mistakenly referred to by the wrong last name in one reference in an article Monday about a new Christian home for women in Danville.
